Box Score ALLENTOWN, Penn. – The Lehman College women's soccer team completed the two-day Cedar Crest College Soccer Classic with a 3-0 win over Valley Forge Christian College on Sunday afternoon. With the win, improves to 3-1-1 on the season.
In the opening round of the Classic, Lehman tied host Cedar Crest College, 1-1, on Saturday.
Against VFCC (0-5), Lehman took a 1-0 lead midway through the first half, as freshman phenom Lillian Barreto (Bronx, N.Y./Truman) scored her fourth goal of the season.
In the second half, reserve midfielder Ana Lopes (Venancio Aires, Brazil/Aparecida School) scored her first career goal in the 70th minute, before junior defender Samantha Dias (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquot) netted her third goal of the season for the 3-0 final.
Freshman keeper Stephanie Gonzalez (Yonkers, N.Y./Gorton) made five saves to earn her second shutout win of the year.
Lehman dominated the game offfensively, out-shooting VFCC 27-10.
The Lightning now take a break before returning to action on September 17, at York College, in the CUNY Athletic Conference opener.
