Lightning Cruise Past Cougars

Lehman improved to 6-2 in the CUNYAC and 12-13 overall with a straight set victory over Medgar Evers College (0-8:0-23).

Jo-Marie Aquino and Salveira Gonzalez combined for 24 kills while Imani Dubois registered 24 assists to lead the Lightning. Lizette Medina added a team high six digs. Aquino was also credited with seven service aces.

In the first set with the game tied at 7-7 the Lightning ran off three straight points thanks in part to the serving prowess of Lindsey Pantaleon. Lehman went on to win the set 25-17. In the second set the Lightning jumped out to a 10-4 lead and never looked back cruising to a 25-13 win. In the third with the set tied at five, Lehman ran off six straight points to take control of the set. The Lightning would prevail in the third set 25-15.

Lehman concludes the regular season on Thursday night at Rutgers Newark. The Lightning have qualified for the CUNYAC post-season tournament as the number three seed and will host a quarter-final match next Tuesday at 6:00 P.M. in the Apex.
