Box Score 2 BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College softball team settled for a split against Baruch in the CUNY Athletic Conference doubleheader, on the South Field, on Tuesday afternoon. Lehman won Game One, 9-1, while dropping the second game, 11-7.
In the first game, Lehman scored four runs in the opening frame, capped off by an RBI single from junior outfielder
Chariny Graciano (Jackson Heights, N.Y./Information Technology). Lehman would add five more runs in the home half of the fifth. The highlights in that frame were a two-run single off the bat of senior first baseman
Ashley Williams (Bronx, N.Y./Bronx Leadership Academy) and an RBI double by junior catcher
Kyala Cruz (Brooklyn, N.Y./American Senior), which clinched Lehman's fourth conference victory of the season

For the game, Williams drove in three runs, while sophomore third baseman
Linda Resto (Bronx, N.Y./Lehman H.S.) drew a walk with the bases loaded to give Lehman a run. Resto and Cruz each scored two runs.
Sophomore pitcher
Meghan Bravo (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River) also scored twice. In the circle, she went five innings, giving up just one earned run, three hits, and struck out a pair of batters, to earn the complete game victory.
In the second end of the doubleheader, the Bearcats (3-13, 3-7 CUNYAC) scored four runs in the opening inning to put Lehman (8-9, 4-8 CUNYAC) in a hole. In the bottom of the second, junior shortstop
Jona Kerluku (Ozone Park, N.Y./CTEA) drove in a run on a base hit, to pull Lehman within three. In the next inning, freshman second baseman
Karina Lora (Bronx, N.Y./Bronx Leadership Academy) hit a two-run single, with two outs, to shrink Baruch's lead to 7-3.
In the home half of the sixth, Williams drilled a two-run home run to pull Lehman within one, at 8-7. Baruch would answer by scoring three runs in the top of the ninth, and went on to win 11-7.
Sophomore pitcher
Arlette Martinez (Brooklyn, N.Y./Newtown) took the loss in relief, giving up two earned runs in three innings pitched. Bravo started the game and went four innings, giving up seven earned runs.
It was Senior Day as Williams,
Joselyn Cuzco (Bronx, N.Y./Flushing), and
Xiomara Pacheco (New York, N.Y./St. Jean Baptiste) were honored with a brief ceremony prior to the start of the opening game.
Lehman will play the College of Mount Saint Vincent, in a doubleheader on the South Field, on Thursday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. Â
