Box Score BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Lehman College softball team earned a non-conference win over host Sarah Lawrence College, 13-5, to conclude the regular season on Friday afternoon. The Lightning produced 10 hits as a team.
Lehman (9-14) scored five runs in the top of the first. Sophomore third baseman
Linda Resto (Bronx, N.Y./Lehman H.S.) opened the scoring by drilling a triple to right-center, scoring classmate
Arlette Martinez (Brooklyn, N.Y./Newtown). Later in the inning, junior outfielder
Chariny Graciano (Jackson Heights, N.Y./Information Technology) produced a run-scoring single to extend Lehman's lead to 4-0.
In the top of the second, freshman second baseman
Karina Lora (Bronx, N.Y./Bronx Leadership Academy) doubled to left-center, to score two more runs to put Lehman up 7-0. Graciano added her second run-scoring single of the afternoon, to extend Lehman's lead to 8-0. Lehman went on to win, 13-5.
For the afternoon, Graciano went 4-for-4, with two runs scored and just as many RBI. Senior first baseman
Ashley Williams (Bronx, N.Y./Bronx Leadership Academy) scored two runs and had two RBI. Lora reached base three times with three RBI and two runs scored.
On the mound, sophomore pitcher
Meghan Bravo (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River) earned a complete game victory, giving up just one earned run, while scattering six hits, and striking out three batters.
Lehman earned the fifth seed and will battle #4 John Jay in the first game of the CUNY Athletic Conference Championships, on Wednesday. The time and site of the contest have yet to be determined.
