Box Score 2 BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College softball team dropped both ends of a CUNY Athletic Conference doubleheader to Hunter College, on the South Field, on Monday afternoon. Lehman lost Game One, 17-1, while falling in the second game, 13-0.
In the first game, junior outfielder Chariny Graciano (Jackson Heights, N.Y./Information Technology) drove in Lehman's only run, on a single, to score junior catcher Jona Kerluku (Ozone, N.Y./CTEA) in the bottom of the fifth. Earlier in the frame, Kerluku drilled a double for Lehman's first hit of the contest.
Sophomore pitcher Meghan Bravo (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River) took the loss, surrendering 11 earned runs in two innings pitched. Sophomore Linda Resto (Bronx, N.Y./Lehman H.S.) filled in as an emergency pitcher, giving up six earned runs in three full innings.
In Game Two, Bravo pitched a complete game, giving up 13 earned runs in five innings, to take her second loss of the evening.
At the plate, senior first baseman Ashley Williams (Bronx, N.Y./Bronx Leadership Academy) hit a double, while Kerluku produced a triple. Sophomore outfielder Micharey Almanzar (Bronx, N.Y./Park East) added two singles.
The Lightning will return to the South Field on Friday, for a CUNYAC doubleheader against the College of Staten Island, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
