BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's tennis team had its first match of the spring season on Friday, and dropped a 5-4 decision to visiting Berkeley College.

After dropping the first two doubles matches to the Knights (2-4), Lehman's tandem of freshman Elizaveta Ostanina (St. Petersburg, Russia/APRCHS) and junior Danielle Buckley (Bronx, N.Y./Lehman HS) won at third doubles, 8-7.

Moving to singles action, the teams split the six matches to give Berkeley the victory. Lehman's winners included sophomore Lynessa George (Bronx, N.Y./New Covenant Christian) at second singles, 6-2, 6-0, sophomore Kantomalala Rasedoara (Woodside, N.Y./Newcomers) at third, 6-3, 6-4, and Buckley at sixth, 6-1, 6-1.

The Lightning (3-10) have one more spring match remaining, on Thursday, May 7, against York College.
