BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's tennis team fell to Baruch, 8-1, in the opening match of the 2015 season, on Saturday afternoon on the APEX Tennis Courts.

The Lightning (0-1, 0-1 CUNYAC) were led by senior
Neralda Zuniga (Bronx, N.Y./Dual Language & Asian Studies), who won her #5 singles match in thrilling fashion. She narrowly won the first set, 7-6. After falling short in the second, 6-4, Zuniga won the third set tiebreaker, outlasting her opponent 10-7 to clinch the victory at #5 singles.

Lehman will be back in action on Friday, September 11, for a CUNY Athletic Conference match against John Jay. The Lightning will be the official away team, but the match will take place on the APEX Tennis Courts beginning at 4:00 p.m.Â
