Brooklyn, NY – Lehman fell to Brooklyn 1-0 in the final regular season conference game for both schools.
After a scoreless first half, the Bulldogs struck in the 61
st minute for the game's only goal. Victoria Ramirez netted her sixth goal of the season from just outside the penalty box. With the loss the Lightning now stand at 8-6-1 overall record and a 4-2 mark in conference play. Lehman will be the third seed in the post-season tournament. The CUNYAC post season championship gets underway next Saturday at Brooklyn College. Lehman, the number three seed, will be pitted against Staten Island, the number two seed. The semi-final contest kicks off at 4:30 PM on October 29
th. The other semi-final has host Brooklyn, the number one seed against the number four seed CCNY.
The Bulldogs (7-6-2:6-0) outshot the Lightning 13-6. Lehman goal keeper
Arlette Martinez, played all 90 minutes for the first time this season. She was credited with a season high nine saves. It was the first goal she surrendered in the three games she has appeared.
Lehman still has one more regular season contest remaining. The Lightning will take on CCNY in a non-conference tilt at Randall's Island on Monday.
