Mami Aoki and
Elizaveta Ostanina, teamed up for only the third time this season, and managed to pull out an 8-6 victory.
Needing only to win two singles matches, the Lightning earned straight set victories by # 3 Aoki (6-2, 6-2), # 4 George (6-3, 6-1) and # 5 Rasedoara (6-1, 6-3). The lone victory by CSI came at sixth singles. Lehman was leading in the matches at first and second singles but the match was halted as the Lightning could not be caught.
Baruch easily won their semi-final 5-0 over John Jay.
Earlier this season, the Bearcats defeated the Lightning 5-3. "Both teams were different, back in earlier September when the two meet on the APEX Courts," commented Belzunce. "I'm looking forward to a great and competitive match."
