Bronx, N.Y. -- The #3 Lehman College women's soccer team looks to advance to the CUNYAC Finals when they take on the #2 College of Staten Island in the semifinals Wednesday night at the Brooklyn College Field.
The Lightning (8-7-1, 4-2-0 CUNYAC) has lost the last two matchups of the regular season, dropping to Brooklyn College and CCNY on October 22 and October 24th respectively.
Chelsey Harris is currently tied for second in the CUNYAC with 12 goals and tied for first with four game-winning goals. Multi-time conference player of the week
Daisy Gomez is tied for fifth with nine scores, while also having three players in the top-10 in assists with
Gredia Sanchez(second with nine assists), along with Harris and
Lillian Barreto with four each.
In their only meeting of the season, the third-seeded Dolphins (10-4-2, 5-1 CUNYAC) topped Lehman 2-0 in Staten Island on September 14th. Keeper
Linda Resto made seven saves in a losing effort.
Start time at Brooklyn College is set for 6:30 p.m. The winner will face the semifinal winner of Brooklyn College/CCNY in the finals Saturday afternoon.
