Old Westbury, NY – The Lehman College Swimming and Diving Teams split with the College of Old Westbury. The Men prevailed 92-79 and the women fell 105-91.
Yaidee Nieves paced the women's team with three victories. Nieves was the first to touch the wall in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 3:00.27. She also finished first in the 200 IM in a time of 2:49.64. The three sport athlete also took first place in the 100 freestyle in a time of 1:07.20.
Angela Mejia also had a strong night. She was victorious in the 50 freestyle touching first in 26.38. Mejia, the reigning CUNYAC Swimmer of the Week also earned a victory in the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:32.97 as well as the 500 freestyle, posting a 6:54.70.
On the men's side,
Ryan Sanchez won the 1000 freestyle by almost two minutes posting a 12:37.71. He followed that up by winning the 100 butterfly in a time of 1:12.49. Chad Padayogdog took home top honors for the first time this season winning the 200 freestyle in 2:31.17. Chris Fischer claimed the top spot in the 50 freestyle and
Francis Turbi prevailed in the 200 IM in times of 23.37 and 2:37.55 respectively.
Adam Acevedo touched the wall first in the 100 freestyle in a time of 54.49.
The Lightning return to the APEX Pool on Saturday. Lehman will host Purchase at noon.
