Mahwah, N.J. – Both the Lehman College men's and women's swimming teams were defeated on the road in a dual meet against Ramapo College Saturday afternoon in Mahwah.
The men (3-2) dropped a 134-36-19 decision over the Roadrunners. They were paced by
Christopher Fischer, who earned first-place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly event with a time of 58.56. The relay teams placed first, second and third in the 200-yard freestyle where
Adam Acevedo, Fischer,
Ryan Sanchez and Chad Padayogdog grabbed the top spot with a time of 1:41.00. Acevedo took second place in the 200-yard butterfly at 2:21.60.
On the women's side (2-3), they lost to Ramapo College. 112-46-29. Among the notable swimmers on the squad were
Angela Mejia, who grabbed first place in the 100-yard butterfly with a 1:10.29 time. She also finished second by less than a second in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:15.58.
Yaidee Nieves secured a first-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke at 3:00.69. In the relay, the "A" team of Mejia,
Christina Hitchman, Nieves, and
Teresa Hernandez won the 200-yard freestyle relay at 2:00.52.
The next time both teams return to action in December 16th, when they head to Staten Island to face CUNYAC foe CSI. Start time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
