Bronx, NY – The Lehman College softball squad dropped both ends of a double header to St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) 8-0 and 12-0. Lehman falls to 7-15 overall while the Bears improve to 9-14.
The Bears got on the scoreboard in the third inning when they took advantage of a Lightning error and added two more in the fourth also on unearned runs. They capped the scoring in the fifth with five more runs including a two run homer by Kristin Ferrigno. The Lightning recorded four singles during the first game.
In the night cap, St. Joes scored early and often as they plated two runs in the first, an additional run in the second and nine more in the third. The Bears pounded out 15 hits and had a no hitter going into the fourth until
Linda Resto knocked a double over the center fielders head for the Lightning's only hit of the contest. It was her second hit of the night.
Meghan Bravo was credited with both losses for the Lightning.
The Lightning jump back into league play on Saturday afternoon at Baruch. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at noon on Randall's Island.
