Box Score BRONX, NY --- Lehman Lightning softball (5-11 overall, 4-6 conference) stings York College (0-8 overall, 0-2 conference) as the Lightning bats .538 with 28 hits in route to a double header sweep. The Lightning won the first game 17-9, when the offense busted eight runs on six hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Lehman took the second half of the double header 26-16 in 5 innings, as they strike early in the bottom of the first inning with 11 runs.
In game one, freshmen second basemen
Genesis Paulino bunched together three hits including an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning, which was part of a sequence of five straight hits for the Lightning. Paulino reached base and scored each of her at bats in game one. Junior shortstop/pitcher

Yzaira Galan each tallied two hits.
The Lightning drew first blood in the bottom of the first inning, highlighted by a Resto homerun. Contreras smacked a single to right field that scored Paulino from second, the first of Contreras's team high 3 RBI's. The Cardinals responded in the top of the third with freshmen shortstop Nicole Ovelheira blasted a 2 run round tripper to tie the game at 3. The Cardinals would score three more runs on four hits in the top of the fourth before the Lightning would respond in the bottom of the fifth, when four runners scored.
The Lightning closed the door on York College in the bottom of the sixth inning when the offense exploded for eight runs to end the game 17-9.
In the nightcap of the double header, Lehman scored runs in bunches, starting with an 11 run bottom of the first inning that included 16 Lehman plate appearances. Martinez, Resto, and Bravo each hit safely twice in the game. Resto cranked a double to right center, and drove in a team high three runs in the game. Junior pitcher

With the sweep on the Cardinals, the Lightning pushes its winning streak to four games. They travel to Old Westbury for a double header against the College of Old Westbury Panthers on April 12. The first game is scheduled to begin at 3 PM.
