Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's tennis team hosted Baruch College, and fell to their conference foe 5-3 Saturday afternoon at the APEX Tennis Courts.
The Lightning earned two singles victories out of five completed matches and a doubles win in three.
In singles play, No.1
Sasha Espirtu (Bronx, N.Y.) secured an exciting 7-6 [7-1], 1-6, 10-7 win against Allie Jackson-King.
Kantomalala Rasedoara (Woodside, N.Y.) grabbed a 6-2, 6-1 straight-set win over Brooke Severance for the team's other singles win.
On the doubles side, Rasedoara teamed up with
Lynessa George (Bronx, N.Y.) to best Severance and Hayley Bester with an 8-2 win for the team's lone win in three matches.
Lehman returns to action Monday, when they head to Brooklyn to face off with CUNYAC foe Brooklyn College. First serve is set for 4:00 p.m.
