Box Score Staten Island, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's soccer team could not build any momentum offensively and fell to CUNYAC rival College of Staten Island, 2-0, Wednesday afternoon at the CSI Soccer Complex.
Senior keeper
Linda Resto made seven saves of the nine shots on goal (27 total) in the game for the Lightning (2-2, 0-1) in a losing effort.
Daisy Gomez totaled two shots and
Chelsey Harris and
Pamela Sanchez-Espejel each fired one, but all failed to reach on goal.
For the Dolphins (4-0-1, 1-0 CUNYAC), Krista Anson netted the game-winning goal in the 27th minute of the game while Krystina Anderson added an assist. Senda Karagozler tacked on the second goal in the 86th minute as they extended their win streak to four.
The first half saw Resto stop five of the six on goal and 12 in the half. Anson broke through with the opening score at 26:59 on a long through ball leading to a breakaway. In the second, CSI continued their shooting barrage and the Lightning could not push a goal past the net. Karagozler's goal at 85:29 sealed the win for the Dolphins.
