Box Score Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's soccer team scored a goal in the second half, but too many missed opportunities derailed their chance at a comeback as they were defeated by Manhattanville, 4-1, Wednesday night at the South Field.
Pamela Sanchez-Espejel scored the lone goal for the Lightning (4-4), her third of the season.
Daisy Gomez recorded the assist on a nice lead pass from midfield to Sanchez. Keeper
Linda Resto made one save on goal in a losing effort.
The Valiants (3-5-1) got goals from four different players, including Ashley Heis who scored less than two minutes into the first half. Lauren Vallarelli, Dany Swidler and Kerri Durkin each tallied a score, while Dolores Deimicke stopped eight shots on goal in the victory.
Heis got Manhattanville out in front early with a breakaway goal at 1:52, then Vallarelli followed at 12:32 as they went ahead 2-0 at halftime. In the second, Swidler fired in a goal off a free kick to extend their lead to three.
Lehman would have numerous chances in the second half to get back into the game, tallying 11 shots in the stanza. They would get on the scoreboard at 65:46, when Sanchez got a great pass from Gomez and beat the keeper to make it 3-1. Good chances by

Lillian Barreto later in the game were stopped by Deimicke as Manhattanville would secure the victory.
