Box Score Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team made a valiant run in the last two sets, but eventually lost in straight sets to Maritime College, 3-0 [9-25, 18-25, 19-25], Thursday night at the Apex Main Gym.

Salveira Gonzalez (Bronx, N.Y.) led the Lightning (1-2) with six kills along with six digs and two blocks in a losing effort. Lindsay Pantaleon (New York, N.Y.) added four kills, while Samantha Delgado (Warwick, N.Y.) dished out 10 assists. Chanell Quezada (Bronx, N.Y.) added a team-high three service aces, all three in a row during the third set.

For the Privateers (2-3), Sheila Flaherty slammed a game-high 12 kills along with a block. Meredith Hayes (nine kills) and Carly Lombardo (seven) contributed on the offensive end in the win.

Up next for the Lightning is hosting a CUNYAC Tri-Match Saturday at the Apex Gym. They will take on the College of Staten Island and CCNY, while those two teams will face off prior to that. First serve of the multi-match is set for 10:00 AM when the Dolphins take on the Beavers.
