Box Score Old Westbury, NY – The Lehman College (6-6-1) defeated Old Westbury (2-11) 2-0 behind goals from
Daniela Castro and
Lillian Barreto.
Castro got the Lightning on the board with just 1:13 to play in the first half when she pounced on a rebound shot of Pamela Sanchez. The contest was still in doubt till the waning seconds as Barreto gathered a loose ball in the box and drilled it into the back of the net for the final score.
Lehman dominated play as they outshot the Panthers 30-7 and held the edge on corners 5-2.

Rebecca Gritz, the reigning CUNYAC Defender of the Week was called on to make five saves. The shutout was her sixth of the season.
The Lightning return to action on Saturday as the travel to Brooklyn to face Medgar Evers College. Kick-off is slated for 1:30 PM at MCU Park in Coney Island.
Lehman will be participating in this game as part of the memorial soccer match for David Peters. Peters was a former Medgar Evers soccer coach who passed away earlier this summer. Admission price also includes access to the Medgar Evers-York men's game that is scheduled to kick-off at 3:30 PM as well as the Cosmos game later that evening.
Tickets are $20.00 and are good for all three games. All of the proceeds from the game will be going to the Memorial Scholarship Fund for David Peters.
