Staten Island, N.Y. - The Lehman College men's soccer team kept its unblemished mark in CUNYAC play intact on Saturday with a 1-0 blanking of the College of Staten Island in Staten Island on Saturday. With the victory, the squad is now 10-3-1 overall and 7-0 in league play.
At first glance at the stat sheet, it would seem that the Dolphins came out on top. They out shot the Lightning, 22-8 and held Lehman without a corner kick for the entire match. However, lightning struck for Lehman just past the hour mark, when
Shevante Scott played a ball into the box that
Salh Alzubidi redirected into the goal. The marker proved to be the game's only score in the 1-0 lead. The goal was Alzubidi's 14th, tops in the conference. He also leads the CUNYAC with 28 points.
The Lehman College men's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, October 18 when they host Medgar Evers College at 6 PM.
