Allentown, Pa. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team saw its brief, two game winning streak, come to an abrupt end with a 3-1 defeat to Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pennsylvania on Saturday.  The Lightning took the opening set, 27-25, but dropped the next three, 25-13, 25-13 and 25-14.
 
Set one was back-and-forth as neither side led by more than four points at any time.  There were 11 ties.  Up 19-18, Lehman seemingly took control with three straight points.  A Cedar Crest attack error and strong serves from Francesca Acevedo, complimented by a Samantha Delgado kill made the score 22-18, forcing the Falcons into a timeout.  The score would later be even at 25-all.  A kill from Yzaira Galan and an attack error from Cedar Crest gave the set to Lehman.
 
The Falcons took control of set two from the outset and never looked back.  A Delgado service ace pulled the Lighting within 4-3, but Cedar Crest took the set 25-13. 
 
Set three was similar to the second one except for Lehman getting an early lead.  A Paulette Sepulveda serve led to an error that put the Lightning ahead, 3-2.  The Falcons took over and got the set, 25-13. 
 
The fourth and final set went to Cedar Crest, 25-14.  With the loss, the team dropped to 4-18 overall.  Sepulveda tallied 11 digs and three aces.  Delgado finished with 18 assists and eight digs.  The team returns to action on Thursday, October 19, when they face York College in Queens at 7 PM.
