Lightning Down Cardinals 3-1

Box Score The Lehman College women's volleyball team defeated York (2-20:1-6) 3-1 to earn a key conference victory that secures the Lightning the sixth and final seed in the upcoming CUNYAC post season volleyball tournament.

Lehman (5-18:3-4) dropped the first set 28-26 but rallied to take the next three by scores of 25-10, 25-18 and 25-11. 

Caitlin Vernon led the way with 10 kills and six service aces.  Samantha Delgado was credited with 23 assists and Paulette Sepulveda led the team with 19 digs. 
The first set was a back and forth affair.  The Lightning actually had two set points but could not finish the deal.  In the second set the Lightning jumped out to an early lead cruising to victory.  Trailing 17-14 in the third set the Lightning went on an 11-1 run to close out the set.  In the fourth set, the Lightning jumped out to a 9-4 lead and never looked back. 

The Lightning return to action on Saturday as they travel to Bronxville, NY to participate in the Sarah Lawrence tri-match.  Lehman will take on Sarah Lawrence and CSI starting at 1 PM.
