INTERVIEW WITH VICTORIO
Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's soccer team got a goal barely two minutes into action that held up for a 1-0 Lightning win, in a battle between the CUNYAC's lone unbeaten teams. With the victory, Lehman improved to 9-3 overall and 6-0 in conference, while the Bloodhounds dropped to 6-5 and 5-1 in the CUNYAC.
At the 2:10 mark, Lehman took possession and
Omar Moro placed a ball across the box to
Eduardo Victorio. The freshman took one step and blasted a shot below the keeper's outstretched hands for the goal. The game stayed at 1-0 into the half.
Chris Mulholland was up to the task in net, turning aside four shots en route to his seventh clean sheet of the season. The back four of
Rafael Emiliano,
Nabi Ben Bangoura,
Adewale Adewusi and
Abdoulaye Bassirou thwarted the vaunted John Jay offense to also help seal the victory.
In the win,
Shevante Scott led all players with four shots. The Lightning outshot John Jay, 15-7. The win marked the third-straight for the Lightning. They have outscored their opponents 11-0 in those three shutouts.
The Lehman College men's soccer team returns to action on Tuesday, October 10, when they face Old Westbury at 4PM on Long Island.
