Purchase, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's and women's swimming teams swept a dual meet at Purchase College on Monday night. The men prevailed, 116-46 and have won two straight, en route to a 2-1 season record. The women triumphed, 101-74 and evened their season record at 2-2.
Andres Rodriguez was the key contributor for the men. He won individual races in the 50 freestyle (23.60), the 100 fly (58.98) and was part of a relay team that came out on top. Rodriguez combined with
Christopher Fischer,
Adam Acevedo and
Anton Kyrylenko to win the 200 freestyle relay in a time of 1:38.19, nearly :25 faster than the second place team. Others winners for the men included
Siprian Mayol in the 1000 (14:03.04),
Ryan Sanchez in the 200 free (2:09.69) and
Quaylan Barker in the 100 free (35.01). Finally the grouping of
Juan Rodriguez,
Herman Rodriguez,
Glenn Rodriguez and
Rinaldi Hernandez took first in the 200 yard medley relay.
The women also came out on top in their meet.
Sarina Eshtiaghi continued her memorable rookie campaign with a pair of victories in the 200 free (2:08.58) and the 100 fly (1:05.07).
Christina Hitchman captured first in the 50 free (28.52),
Angela Mejia won the 200 IM (2:31.86),
Genesis Ramos prevailed in the 100 free (41.18) and
Claudia Rodriguez came in first in the 100 breast (1:43.83). Finally the realy team of
Olubunmi Oladele, Rodriguez,
Sheila Davila and
Elleny Ramirez won the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:54.87.
The Lehman College swimming teams return to the pool on Wednesday, November 30 when they open CUNYAC competition at Brooklyn College at 6PM.
