The Lightning swim teams battled conference foe Brooklyn in a the pool on the Brooklyn campus Thursday night with the Lehman men edging out the Brooklyn 119-115 meanwhile the Brooklyn women topped Lehman 108-103.
In the women's 200 Medley Relay the squad of
Sarina Eshtiaghi,
Sheila Davila,
Yaidee Nieves and
Christina Hitchman touched first posting a 2:16.55. Hitchman and Nieves went one-two in the 50 Free posting times of 28.67 and 31.19. Hitchman also won the 100 Free posting a time of 1:07.62. Nieves also touched first in the 100 yard Breaststroke after posting a 1:24.17. Eshtiaghi posted a 2:24.90 to capture first place in the 200 Individual Medley. Her nearest competitor was more than 20 seconds behind her. She also prevailed in the 100 Back posting a time of 1:04.45. Hilary Frank, swimming in her first meet of the season, captured the top spot in the one-meter diving competition.
In the men's competition,
Ryan Sanchez posted a 12:20.13 in the 1000 Free to win by more than seven seconds. He also prevailed in the 500 Free in a time of 5:56.88. Chris Fischer posted the fastest time in the 200 yard free with a 1:55.97.
Juan Toribio prevailed in the one meter diving competition. Toribio and
Escardo Castelan went one two in the three meter diving competition.
Adam Acevedo and
Andres Rodriguez went one two in the 100 Fly in times of 56.03 and 57.77.
The Lehman men improve to 3-1:1-0 while the Lehman women fall to 2-3:0-2.
The Lightning return to action on Friday, December 8
th as they host Conference rival Staten Island at 5:30 PM in the APEX Pool.
