Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College swimming and diving teams dropped both its men's and women's matches to the College of Staten Island on Friday. The men lost 127-109, while the women were defeated, 109-94.
The men had several standout performances in their competition. The combination of
Christopher Fischer,
Anton Kyrylenko,
Adam Acevedo and
Andres Rodriguez won the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:46.88. Rodriguez also took first in the 50 free with a mark of 23.78, while Acevedo posted a winning time of 56:83 in the 100 butterfly and Fischer prevailed in the 100 free (51.32).
Ryan Sanchez prevailed in the 1000 freestyle with a clocking of 12:20.42. The men now own a 3-2 record including a 1-1 conference ledger.
The women were led once again by freshman, Sarina Eshtiagi, who won a slew of races. The reigning CUNYAC Rookie of the Week won the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:06.15. She also took first in the 100 backstroke, with a mark of 1:06.93.
Yaidee Nieves also captured the top spot in the 100 breast with a time of 1:21.61. The women are now 2-4 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
Both teams are off through the end of the year. They return to the pool on Saturday, January 6, when they cross the Hudson to face FDU Florham at 1PM.
