Lightning Softball to host Valley Forge…..Women’s Tennis hosts Hunter

Bronx, NY – In a rare women's spring match, the women's tennis team will take on Hunter College at 10:00 AM on the Apex Courts.  Later this afternoon the softball squad we take on the Patriots of the University of Valley Forge in a double header.  Game time is 4:30 PM on the South Field.

The softball is off to a slow start.  Lehman stands at 2-14 after splitting games with the Blue Angels of the College of New Rochelle.  Natasha Minier leads the team with a .389 batting average.  Rookie Maranda Diaz and Yaidee Nieves are also batting over .300.  The Patriots are 3-19.  They dropped both ends of a double header this past weekend with the College of New Rochelle.

This will be the Lightning's first match of the spring.  This past fall the Lightning had their best season in history.  Lehman won 14 matches including a stretch with 13 straight.  Sacha Espiritu was named CUNYAC Player of the Year, Lizaveta Markouskaya was named CUNYAC Rookie of the Year and Coach Ana Belzunce was named CUNYAC Coach of the Year.
