Women’s Volleyball Drops CUNYAC Match to Hunter, 3-0

Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team saw their two match winning streak come to an end at home on Tuesday with a 3-0 downfall to Hunter in a CUNYAC conference match.  The scores of the sets were 25-7, 25-17, 25-5.

Caitlin Vernon picked up two of her match-best, seven kills in set one.  Strong serving from Vernon kept the Lighting close in set two.  In fact, they took a 9-8 lead when a Vernon offering was eventually killed by Samantha Delgado.  The Hawks fought back and took set 2, 25-17.  Lehman got on the board first in set three, thanks to a Hunter attack error.  The Hawks rebounded and took the set, 25-5.

Paulette Sepulveda and Ariana Pradieu led the team with seven digs each.  Delgado also had four assists.  With the defeat, the team is now 2-10 overall, 1-2 in CUNYAC play.

The Lehman College women's volleyball  returns to action on Saturday, September 30, when they face Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham and Mount Saint Vincent in a tri-match from Riverdale, New York.  The first game is scheduled for 1PM.
