Women’s Basketball Now 5-3 in CUNYAC After 84-40 Win Over Medgar Evers

Bronx, N.Y. - The Lehman College women's basketball team got back above .500 with an 84-40 win over Medgar Evers in a game played in the Bronx on Wednesday.  The team improved to 5-3 in CUNYAC play as well.

The Lightning jumped out to a 13-0 lead thanks to six points from Ayanna Behagen, five points from Aliyah Dorsett and a basket from Lynda Fields.  Lehman never looked back from there.  The team led 31-14 after one quarter and 52-25 at the half.  The largest lead for the Lightning came at the 2:06 mark in the fourth when a Lisa Fields three-pointer made the score 84-40.

Lehman had a balanced scoring attack with four players in double figures.  Lynda Fields led the team with 23 points and eight assists.  Dorsett totaled 20 on 10-20 shooting.  Despite being in foul trouble for most of the game, Behagen shot 7-8 and totaled 16 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.  Denisa Lamenca shot 3-4 to finish with six points in her most productive game of the season.  The 40 points allowed was the second-fewest to any opponent this season.

The Lehman College women's basketball team returns to action on Friday, January 19, when they host CCNY at 1PM.
