Women's Swimming Defeats John Jay, 115-90

Bronx, N.Y. - The Lehman College women's swimming and diving team picked up a much-needed conference victory with a 115-90 triumph over John Jay on Friday from the Apex Pool.  The team improved to 4-7 overall and 2-0 in CUNYAC competition.  The team has won its last two contests.

Leading the way for the Lightning was Sarina Eshtiaghi, who won three events.  She captured first in the 200 free (2:13.79), nearly 13 seconds ahead of 2nd place finisher, won the 100 fly (1:05.93) and came in at the top in the 100 back (1:04.87).  Angela Mejia won three races, prevailing in the 200 IM (2:32.44), the 100 free (1:01.94) and 100 breast (1:19.47).  Individual wins came from Christina Hitchman, in the 50 free (28.91) and Hilliary Frank, who amassed 105.53 points to win the 1 meter diving.

The Lehman College women's swimming & diving team returns to action on Monday, January 22, when they host St. Joseph's College at 7PM.
