The Lightning extended their winning streak to six with an 80-56 over Brooklyn College. Lehman improves to 14-4:9-1 while the Bulldogs fall to 4-14:4-6.
The Lightning got 23 points from
Luis Hernandez, 18 from
Jean Marcial, 11 from
Andrew Utate and 10 from
Mylo Mitchell to propel them to victory.
Lehman jumped out to a 9-2 thanks in part to six points by Marcial. The Bulldogs battled back to cut the deficit to 11-10 with 14:00 to play but that would be as close as they would get all night. Nursing a five point advantage (23-18) the Lightning went on a 9-0 run to push the lead to double digits where it stayed the rest of the night. Lehman did get the lead up to 15 on several occasions before settling on a 39-28 lead at the half. The Lightning started the second half on a 13-5 run to extend their lead to 52-33 with 13:38 to play. Lehman cruised to victory as 14 different players got time.
Lehman out-rebounded Brooklyn 50-40 and limited the Bulldogs to 18-66 (.273) shooting from the field. The Lightning recorded 42 points in the paint including 14 fast break points.
Daniel Shulman came off the bench to lead Brooklyn with 14 points.
Lehman returns to action on Wednesday night as they host York at 5:30 PM in the APEX.
