Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's basketball team pushed its win streak to seven with an 88-63 victory over York in a game played in the Bronx on Wednesday. With the triumph, the Lightning improve to 15-4 overall and 10-1 in conference play and maintain the top spot in the CUNYAC standings.
The game was back and forth early on until a
Jean Marcial jumper at 11:44 put Lehman up, 21-12. A minute later the lead got to ten with another Marcial basket. The lead got up to 19 points in the half when Marcial made a bucket inside of two minutes. The Lightning led at the half, 42-26.
Lehman used a 10-2 run in the first 3:01 of the second quarter to increase the lead to 52-28. The ten points came from
Andrew Utate (six points),
Luis Hernandez (two) and Marcial (two). A
Fred Truss three-pointer with 3:53 left gave the Lightning their largest lead, 28-points, at 82-54. They won 88-63.
Marcial shot 10-16 and finished with 23. Hernandez 19 and gave out seven assists. Utate reached 15 points and pulled down nine rebounds.
The Lehman College men's basketball team returns to action on Saturday, January 27 when they host John Jay at 3PM.
