Despite 23 points from
Lynda Fields and a double double from
Aliyah Dorsett the Lightning (10-9:6-4) fell to the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College (17-2:9-1)74-57.
Lehman jumped out to a 4-0 lead thanks to back to back baskets by
Ayanna Behagen and Dorsett and were able to extend the lead to five (7-2) but a 14-0 run by the Bulldogs to close out the first spelled trouble for the Lightning. Brooklyn quickly extended the lead to 13 with back to back layups to start the second quarter. A 7-0 run by the Lightning brought the lead down to six with just under eight minutes to play in the second. However, the Bulldogs were able to regain their double digit lead as they went into the locker room at half time with a 31-19 advantage. The third quarter was all Bulldogs as they outscored Lehman 23-11. Brooklyn got the lead up to 26 points before settling on a 54-30 lead at the end of three quarters. The Lightning were able to cut the lead to 15 late in the fourth quarter but never seriously challenged for the lead.
Lisa Fields scored 14 points as Lehman struggled shooting the ball (20-71). Despite forcing 25 turnovers the Lightning were out rebounded 60-37.
Taylor George led the Bulldogs with 19 points.
