Eric Harrison's players took care of business early, getting out to an early lead and cruising to a 99-72 victory over York in what was Coach Harrison's 300
th career victory.
Aliyah Dorsett led the way with a career-high 30 points.
Lehman took an 8-0 lead to open the game on four points from
Lynda Fields and two each from Dorsett and
Ayanna Behagen. The Cardinals made a three and pulled within five, but the Lightning took over, got the lead to double digits on a
Lisa Fields layup at 5:01, and led by as many as 15 points in the quarter.
The largest lead of the half for Lehman – 34 points – came from a three-pointer by
Lynda Fields at the 3:05 mark in the second. The score was 56-22 then and 63-32 at the half.
Lehman maintained an insurmountable lead in the third quarter, eventually pushing the gap to 35, when a Behagen layup at 4:26 made the score 75-40. The Cardinals never got within 20-points for the rest of the game and the Lightning prevailed 99-72.
Dorsett scored a career-high 30 points, her previous was a 25-point output against Baruch on January 9. She also grabbed 11 rebounds. Behagen finished with a triple-double of 24 points 10 rebounds and 10 steals.
Lynda Fields totaled 18. Harrison's 300
th victory keeps him at the top of the all-time CUNYAC list. As a team, the Lightning gave out a season-best 28 assists.
The Lehman College women's basketball team is now 11-9 overall and 7-4 in CUNYAC play. They return to action on Saturday, January 27 when they host John Jay at noon.
