Kings Point, NY - The Lehman College women's volleyball team fell to 4-15 overall falling in straight s.et to the USMMA (11-5).
The USMMA took the first set 25-10 before taking the second and third set by the identical score of 25-16. Eriadana Vasquez and Caitlin Vernon led the squad with four kills apiece. Vernon also led the team in digs with nine. Samantha Delgado had a team high 14 assists.
In the first set, the Mariners jumped out to a 3-0 lead and extended their advantage to 14-4 before cruising to victory. In the second set, the Lightning were able to keep it close. However with the score knotted at 14, the Mariners went on a 5-1 run to take control. In the third set, Lehman stayed close early but could never take the lead before falling.
The Lightning now have a week off to regroup before heading out to play at Rutgers-Newark on Thursday, October 18th.
