Bronx, NY – The Lehman College women's soccer team is hosting John Jay while the men's team hits the road to take on New York University. The women's volleyball will play host to William Paterson.
The Lightning women's soccer team (7-4-1:3-1) look to move up the conference standings as they welcome the Bloodhounds of John Jay to the South Field. Lehman is fresh off a 6-1 victory over Brooklyn.
Daniela Castro and
Melanie Siranaula each netted a pair of goals in the victory.
Julieth Noguez and
Daisy Gomez also tallied for the Lightning while
Rebecca Gritz picked up another victory making three saves between the pipes. John Jay owns a 9-4-1 overall mark and a 4-1 record within CUNAYC. The Bloodhounds are riding a five game winning streak. In their most recent outing, they blanked CCNY 4-0. Last year the Lightning and Bloodhounds met twice with each team taking one victory. The Bloodhounds won the regular season matchup 1-0 but the Lightning got revenge two weeks later in the CUNYAC semi-finals with a 2-0 victory. The men's squad will travel a couple of miles down the road to face NYU in their final regular season affair. The Lightning (6-8-1:4-3-1) secured a game playoff by defeating CCNY 2-0 this past Wednesday night. Marcus Folkes netted his first goal of the season in the 53
rd minute while Sahl Alzubidi added an insurance marker in the 78
th minute for the final margin of victory. The Violets sport a 10-3 record and are coming off a 1-0 defeat against the University of Rochester. Kick-off at Gaelic Park is scheduled for 12:30 PM. Fans unable to make the trip to Riverdale can follow all of the action online via

The volleyball team looks to rebound from a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Rutgers-Newark. Lehman has dropped their last seven matches and now stands at 4-16. The Pioneers enter the match winners of three of their last four and owners of a 19-4 record.
