Bronx, N.Y. – The fifth-seeded Lehman College women's tennis team will travel to meet fourth-seeded Baruch College in the opening round of the 2018 CUNYAC Championship this Sunday at Binghamton Racquetball Club in Edgewater, N.J. at 12:30 pm.
The Lightning concluded the regular season with 4-8 record and 3-3 in CUNYAC action, while the Bearcats ended with 4-4 mark and 3-3 in conference play.
Baruch finished ahead of Lehman in the CUNYAC standings after winning the head-to-head tiebreaker last month (September 14
th) with Bearcats posting a 5-4 victory at New York's Alley Pond Tennis Center. The Lightning will be looking for their first victory against the Bearcats since 2010.
Leading the way for Lehman is sophomore
Joanna Rosario and freshman
Diwa Rana with overall records in singles matches this season of 8-4 and 9-3, respectively. Rosario and Rana are also undefeated in conference play with each having a 6-0 ledger. Sophomore
Yohara Molineros is also unbeaten in CUNYAC Singles Matches with a 5-0 mark, while having a 7-3 overall record.
In Doubles, the duo of Rosario and senior
Leslie Juanacio have an unblemished 5-0 record this season and 3-0 in conference play. Rosario has also teamed up with Molineros three times this year and together have not been beaten on the tennis court.
