Bronx, N.Y. – For the first time since 2010, the Lehman College men's basketball team lost its home season opener as it dropped a 90-69 non-conference encounter to visiting Marymount University on Saturday at The APEX Main Gym.
The Lightning (0-1) trailed only by nine at halftime, however the Saints (1-0) pulled away in second half and led by as many as 20 points while shooting 53 percent from the field, including 10 for 30 from downtown for entire game.
Senior forward Xavier Boyd paced Lehman's offense with 14 points coming off the bench, while sophomore forward Miguel Haboosh notched 13 points with four boards. Senior guard Fred Truss added 12 points with nine rebounds, while sophomore forward Isaiah Geather also hit for 12 points in the loss for the Lightning.
Lehman will be back in action next Friday (November 16th) when it travels to North Dartmouth, Maine to take on hosts Mitchell College at the Hampton Inn Tournament.
