Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College swimming teams defeated visiting Purchase College in a non-conference dual meet at The APEX Pool on Monday evening as men's side posted a 92-71 decision, while the women also won, 71-55.
The Lightning men improve to 3-1 record and the women go to 2-3 on the year, while the Panthers drop to 0-1.
Lehman men swimmer was paced by
Christopher Fischer as he won the 200 individual medley clocking in at 2:18.90, while
Raymond Burdier,
Daniel O'Neill,
Herman Rodriguez and
Juan Rodriguez captured the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:07.50.
Anton Kyrylenko took the 50 freestyle (24.19), while
Cesar Zuniga claimed first place in 100 butterfly (37.33).
Hugo Barrera also won 1000 freestyle (12:42.20) for the Lightning men.
On the women's side,
Sarina Eshtiaghi once again led Lehman as she won the 50 freestyle (30.28), 100 backstroke (1:03.89) and 200 individual medley (2:32.08).
Sheila Davila captured 100 butterfly with a time of 1:53.81, while
Arizbeth Alvarez took first place in 100 freestyle clocking in at 1:18.27.
The Lightning swimmers return to action at The APEX Pool on November 30
th when they hosts St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn in a non-conference dual meet at 6 pm.
