Women’s Basketball Fall In Semifinal To Trinity

Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's basketball team opened the 12th annual Coaches vs. Cancer tournament on Friday losing a 59-39 semifinal encounter to Trinity College-Conn. at The APEX Main Gym.  The Lightning fall to 1-8 overall record, while the Bantams remain undefeated with a 9-0 mark.

Lehman jumped out to a four-point lead while holding Trinity scoreless for almost the five minutes of the opening quarter. 

The Bantams, however, went on a 28 to 10 run against the Lightning to take the 14-point advantage at the intermission and wouldn't trail after that. 
Guard Lisa Fields was the offense for Lehman scoring 28 points with three assists and steals.

Meanwhile, forward Erin Cunningham led the way for Trinity with 25 points and 11 rebounds for the victory that secured the Bantams a spot into tomorrow's (Saturday) tournament final against DeSales which topped Wisconsin-Platteville, 88-62, in the first semifinal at The APEX on Friday.

The Lighting will close out Coaches vs. Cancer tournament taking on Wisconsin-Platteville in the consolation game set for 11 am at The APEX on Saturday. 

Admission on Saturday to The APEX is $10, with children under the age of 13 admitted for $5.  Also, Lehman students with a valid ID are free.  All proceeds from the event will go to the American Cancer Society.
