Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's basketball team concluded its participation at the 12
th annual Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament dropping a 75-59 decision to visiting Old Westbury in the consolation game held at The APEX Main Gym on Saturday. The Lightning fall to 4-6 overall record, while the Panthers go to 4-5 mark.
Lehman only trailed by two point in the intermission, however Old Westbury scored the hosts 42-28 in the second half to grab third-place in the tournament.
Forward
Miguel Haboosh, who was named to the all-tournament team, led the Lightning with 15 points and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, forward Alan McDonald scored paced the way for the Panthers with 23 points and seven rebounds, while guard Pedro Marquez added 18. Teammate Justin Alleyne-Washington made the all-tournament selection for Old Westbury after earning a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds against Lehman.
In the championship game of Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament on Saturday, Manhattanville College (6-6) posted a 100-92 victory over Stevenson University (8-3).
The Valiants were led by Ray Rankis Tournament MVP, forward Sean Smith Jr. , who scored 28 points, with 12 rebounds and four steals in the championship game. Guard Jojo Cobbs, who was also selected to the all-tournament team, added in 22 points for Manhattanville. Meanwhile, forward Mark Terrell paced the way for Stevenson with 23 points while earning all-tournament accolades.
