Bronx, N.Y. – A five-game losing streak ended on Tuesday evening for the Lehman College women's basketball team as it defeated visiting Medgar Evers College, 46-45, in a CUNYAC encounter at The APEX Main Gym for its first victory of the season. The Lightning improve to 1-5, 1-1 CUNYAC, while the Cougars remain winless with an 0-9 mark and 0-2 in conference play.
Trailing going into the fourth quarter, the visitors went on a 16-6 run, however Lehman held on for the victory to also extend its head-to-head winning streak against Medgar to 17 consecutive games going back to 2009.

Lisa Fields led the offense for the Lightning for 20 points with eight rebounds and six steals. Forward
Adeeba Cheema notched a career-high 14 points, while center
Nia Watson added six points with nine rebounds for Lehman.
The Lightning continue CUNYAC action on Friday as they travel to take on York College-NY.
