Jamaica, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's basketball team fell 75-47 to hosts York College-NY in a CUNYAC encounter on Friday at York College Gym. The Lightning drop to 1-6 overall record and 1-2 in CUNYAC, while the Cardinals go to 1-6 mark and 1-2 in conference play.
Lehman jumped out to a 6-5 lead early in the first quarter, however, York went on a 35 to 17 run to take a 17-point advantage into the intermission. The Cardinals wouldn't trail for the rest of the game and eventually post their first victory against the Lightning since February 15, 2010.
Guard
Lisa Fields led the Lehman offense with 16 points, while forward
Nia Watson had 12 points and seven rebounds. Forward
Eriadna Vasquez also added seven points and 10 boards.
The Lightning are back at home next Tuesday when they take on Old Westbury at The APEX Main Gym in a non-conference encounter at 7 pm.
