Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's volleyball team won its third straight game on Wednesday, with a 3-0 victory over St. Joseph's Brooklyn. The team got back to the .500 mark at 4-4. The scores of the sets went 25-7, 25-16 and 25-6.
The strong serving of
Andres Felipe Delgado Velandia helped the team take a 3-0 lead in set 1. Already up 4-2, Lehman scored 14 straight points to essentially put the set away. The strong serving of
Peter Veljovic (four aces) keyed the run.
Mentor Mahmuti had three kills. Mahmouti also served the final five points as set one went to the Lightning, 25-7.
The Bears took a 3-0 lead in set two, but Lehman tied it at 5-all. From there, Jesus De Los Santos served four straight points to make it 9-5, Lightning. A Mahmuti kill gave set two to Lehman, 25-15.
Set three went to Lehman, 25-6. The strong serves of
George Montilla helped the Lighting take an 8-0 lead. They finished off the Bears on a pair of
Roberto Ventura Diaz aces.
The Lehman College volleyball team returns to action on Thursday, February 15, when they face St. Joseph's of Long Island at 7PM in Patchogue.
