Morristown, N.J. – After winning its season opener on Friday, Lehman College women's volleyball team split two matches on Saturday, for a 2-1 fall record, after defeating Medgar Evers, 3-0, but then dropped a 0-3 decision to hosts College of Saint Elizabeth at St. Joseph's Hall.
The Lightning began Saturday's tri-match event posting 25-16, 25-20, 26-24 win over CUNY rival Medgar (0-2) in a non-conference affair.
Junior OH/M - Eriadana Vasquez led Lehman's offense against the Cougars with five kills and 10 digs, while junior DS –
Ariana Pradieu also had 10 digs. Sophomore L/DS –
Christine Tran dished out 11 assists along with two digs, while junior MB -
Caitlin Vernon had four digs, three kills and nine aces.
The Lightning's winning streak ended when they dropped all three sets, 25-12, 25-12, 25-12, to North Eastern Athletic Conference opponent - Saint Elizabeth (2-0). Junior M/OPP -
Franchesca Acevedo had four kills, while Pradieu earned nine digs in the loss.
Lehman returns to action on Wednesday (Sept. 5
th), to play its home opener at The APEX, as it greets Bard College of Liberty League at 7 pm.
