Despite seven kills and six blocks by
Caitlin Vernon the Lightning fell 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 25-14, 26-24) to Bard to fall to 2-2 on the young season.
In the first set the Lightning jumped out to a 5-1 lead. The Raptors rallied knotting the set at nine, before proceeding to go on a 9-3 run to take control of the set en route to a 25-20 victory in set one. In the second set, Lehman found themselves down 6-2 early but ran off 10 straight points to take a lead they would not surrender. In the third set, Bard jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never looked back. The Lightning made in very interesting in the fourth set. Trailing 20-11, Lehman rallied to tie the set at 24 but could not complete the comeback.
Samantha Delgado added 14 assists and
Christina Lopez led the team with 15 digs.
Mikala L'Hote pace the Raptors (2-3) with nine kills.
The Lightning open conference play this weekend as the travel to CCNY to face the Beavers and the Dolphins of CSI on Saturday.
