Brooklyn, NY - The Lightning fell in straight sets to the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College (8-1:3-1) in a CUNYAC volleyball match by scores of 25-9, 25-9, 26-24. Lehman falls to 3-8 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
The Lightning dropped the first two sets by identical scores of 25-9. In the third set Lehman rallied but could not come away with the set. While leading 17-16, Brooklyn went on a 3-0 run to grab the lead. However, the Lightning battled back score the next five points. The Bulldogs were than able to knot the set at 22. Lehman owned a 24-23 lead and had a chance to take the set but the Bulldogs were just too strong capturing the final three points to take the match.
Eriadna Vasquez paced the Lightning with four kills.
Caitlin Vernon added five aces,
Samantha Delgado was credited with eight assists and
Ariana Pradieu led the squad with nine digs.
Things don't get any easier for the Lightning as they travel to Manhattan to face powerhouse Hunter on Monday night.
