Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's tennis team earned its first win of the season after defeating visiting York College, 9-0, in a CUNYAC match-up at The APEX Courts on Thursday. 

The victory is also the first for the Lightning's (1-4, 1-2 CUNYAC) head coach Greg Leonarczyk, while Cardinals fall to 0-1 on the season.

It is the first time since on October 7, 2017, that Lehman wins by a 9-0 score as it topped York during the   CUNYAC tournament in Jamaica, N.Y.

Junior Lizaveta Markouskaya, sophomores Alana Bierman, Celine Figueroa, Joanna Rosario, Yohara Molineros and freshman Diwa Rana all won their respective singles matches for the Lightning.

In the doubles match-ups, the duos of Markouskaya/Rana, Berman/Figueroa and Molineros/Marah Mustafa were victorious.

Lehman returns to action on Saturday when it travels to face Rutgers-Newark at 2 pm.
