Bronx, N.Y. – Five Lehman College athletic teams will be in action this Saturday as men's soccer hosts Brooklyn, women's volleyball travels to Purchase, women's tennis at Rutgers-Newark and both (men's, women's) cross country teams will compete at Mount Saint Mary College-NY.
The Lightning women's volleyball side (3-9, 1-4 CUNYAC) will aim to end a five-match losing streak on Saturday as they meet the Panthers (1-4 overall record) at 11 am. Lehman is coming off a 3-0 loss to conference leader Hunter College last Tuesday in New York City, while Skyline Conference member – Purchase dropped a 3-1 decision to visiting SUNY-Delhi on September 21.
The last time the Lightning-Panthers faced-off was on Sept. 13, 2016, with Lehman winning on the road in three straight sets (25-17, 25-16, 25-19).
Elsewhere on Saturday, both respective cross country teams will take part in Mount St. Mary's Invitational at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome in Milton, N.Y. at 11 am.
The last time Lightning competed at the invitational was Sept. 30, 2017 and
Joshua Roman was the highest finisher for the Lightning taking 13
th in the men's overall with time of 28:37.
Also on Saturday the Lightning men's soccer team (4-5, 2-1 CUNYAC) stage a 3 pm match-up against Brooklyn Bulldogs, who have a 2-9 record and 2-0 in conference play.
Lehman is coming off a 2-0 conference win at York College on Wednesday, while Brooklyn topped visiting Hunter, 3-2.
The previous encounter between Lightning-Bulldogs took place on Sept. 16, 2017, with Lehman posting a 4-0 win. Midfielder
Omar Moro scored twice, while forward
Salh Alzubidi added a tally for the Lightning.

Rounding out Saturday's action will be women's tennis (1-4) against New Jersey Athletic Conference's Rutgers-Newark (0-6) at The Golden Dome Courts at 2 pm. Lehman is coming off a 9-0 victory over York. The Raiders stand at 0-6 having not played a match since last Saturday.
