The Lehman College men's soccer team dropped its' first contest of the season falling to Ramapo 4-0 in Mahwah, NJ. The Lightning now stand at 1-1. Ramapo remains undefeated at 3-0.
The Lightning offense struggled all afternoon while the Roadrunners were firing on all cylinders. Ramapo outshot Lehman 36-4 and held a 9-0 advantage in corners. Freshman
Demiraldo Grunasi, who replaced starting goalkeeper junior
Chris Mulholland in the 25th minute, recorded 14 saves for the Lightning.
The Roadrunners took a 1-0 lead when
Joseph Fala scored the first goal of the game in the 30th minute off a pass inside the box from Jorge Castro. The score stayed the same until the 55
th minute when Chris Nash found the back of the net off a pass from Castro. Fala scored his second of the afternoon to extend the lead to 3-0 three minutes later. Ed Franzoni added a goal in the 68
th minute.
Lehman returns to action this weekend when they travel to upstate New York to battle Bard and New Paltz on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
